An outdoor, all-ages gathering for furries and friends!
Welcome to the Boston Furry Picnic! This free, twice-annual event brings furries together for a day of fun, food, and friendship in the park.
Next picnic date: September 27, 2025
Time: 12pm-4pm
Location: Boston Common, next to Soldiers and Sailors Monument
The picnic is a relaxed, friendly gathering. It's a great chance to meet new people, take photos, and just hang out in a chill, low-pressure setting. There's no formal schedule, so feel free to arrive and leave when you like. Just bring good vibes and be respectful of the public space and each other!
The picnic is located near the center of Boston Common, the nation's oldest public park. You can find us on the southern side of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, which can be found on most map applications.
DRIVING: The Boston Common is a pedestrian-only park. If you plan to drive, the closest and most convenient parking is the Boston Common Garage (Zero Charles St.), which sits directly beneath the Common. From there, it's a short walk to the picnic spot. Street parking is limited and often metered with time restrictions, so garage parking is recommended. Other garages nearby (in order of distance) are: Lafayette Garage, City Place Garage, One Beacon Parking, and Center Plaza Garage.
If you are being dropped off, the closest park entrances are on Charles St. and Beacon St.
PUBLIC TRANSIT: Take the MBTA to either Park Street or Boylston Station. Both stations place you at the edge of Boston Common.
You are encouraged to bring your own food and beverage! There are also plenty of nearby food spots if you'd rather pick something up. Don't forget to bring a blanket or something to sit on, and pack sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat to stay comfortable in the sun. Napkins, trash bags, and hand sanitizer are also handy to have!
Not at all! While fursuits are welcome, many attendees come without them. The picnic is open to everyone interested in and/or adjacent to the furry community.
There are bathrooms available at the Frog Pond building, and various porta potties around.
Yes, photography is welcome! Just be sure to ask for permission before taking photos of other attendees. Some folks may prefer not to be photographed. There will be a group photo for everyone at 2:30pm. If you share your photos online, feel free to use the hashtag #BostonFurryPicnic so others can find and enjoy them too!
